The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a Canadian Football League (CFL) team located in the heart of Central Canada, where they play in the West Division. Since the team’s inception in 1930, the Blue Bombers hold the record for most CFL championship appearances with 25.

The Objective

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers approached EveryStudio with the goal of deepening their connection with millennials and Gen Z’ers in an effort to build the next generation of fans for their team.

EveryStudio’s Solution

Along with comprehensive Geofilter and Snap Ad campaigns, EveryStudio and Winnipeg Blue Bombers multi-year partnership resulted in the creation of the first World Lens augmented reality products for a professional sports team.

The Bombers’ two mascots, Buzz and Boomer, were created in AR, giving fans the ability to interact with these animated characters, whether they're at the game or enjoying it from home.

Along with the World Lenses, EveryStudio also created a Face Filter of Taylor Loffler. Loffler is a Blue Bombers Defensive back and CFL All Star who proudly wears a recognizable mullet and beard combination that has developed a strong fan following in the Winnipeg community. EveryStudio created a Face Filter that enables fans to superimpose Loffler’s mullet and beard on their own faces while taking selfies, to provide fans with a humorous and shareable experience.

The three augmented reality assets have been promoted around the Bombers’ stadium and in-game programming, resulting in 24,951 views in four home games.
